MUFC Player Gabriel Nunez gets another international call up

Former Alianza FC, (El Salvador, 1st Division) player Gabriel Nunez has been given another call up for his National team, Dominican Republic. The international request came through MUFC administration on Monday 22nd, February. Gabriel had a few minutes to discuss his previous experiences playing on the international level:“This is the third time I have been called to the National Team. Last year I was part of an International friendly match against Haiti and then in the summer I was part of the u23 Olympic team.Playing for the national team for every athlete, doesn’t matter the discipline is one of the top goals. For me it’s truly an honour to represent the country for the 3rd time. I’m blessed to be part of a group that defends our country. It is always special to put the country’s jersey, especially when the family is in the stands watching. All my family goes to watch me play. My mother has a family of 10 brothers and sisters and they all try to go with their families. Seeing all my family together makes me happy and it makes the experience so much better.”Gabriel who joined MUFC in late January has been a great role model for our players. He fits into playing the MUFC style and his experience is starting to shine on our other players enhancing their development. When asked about the mentality required going out and competing on the highest stage:“Personally, I don’t go with the mentality of winning a starting spot, I simply want to help the team do the best they can by working together. The most important thing is to leave everything aside and focus only on the team’s well being. The team is the priority not the individual. I want to help the team the best I can to achieve the final objective, which is reaching the Gold Cup. My commitment to the team is 110%. “Nunez will stay and compete with MUFC on our European Tour of Germany, Holland & Belgium before flying back to Dominican Republic for International Duty.
