PROFESSIONAL OPPORTUNITIES
Path for Americans to a Professional European Playing Career
The 2025-26 season will be our 10th anniversary. For our first five years, we operated out of Marbella, Spain, as Marbella United F.C.
We left Marbella at the start of the COVID-19 Pandemic when Spain did not allow student visas for minors. We spent 12 months in Belgrade, Serbia (including three months in Cali, Colombia).
We toured and played with top-flight professional clubs throughout Europe. Over those years, several players went on to play for professional senior teams and academies.
In 2022, we had nine Americans sign European professional contracts.
We are in the final months of 2024; 17 Americans joined professional division 1, 2, and 3 clubs.
We are ending the year with a busy schedule:
Chilean Pro Tour
Buenos Aires Pro Tour
River Plate Academy Coaches are traveling to Mendoza to scout our players.
Competing with Division 1 & 2 Pro Clubs in Mendoza.
Mendoza United F.C. American players are trying out with local pro clubs.
PRO TOURS
Buenos Aires Pro Tour 2023
Mendoza United FC took a 10-day, 3-game Pro Tour in Buenos Aires, Argentina. We faced the two First Division Pro club U19 academies Lanus and Banfield. We got to tour and play in their Facilities. We also played the 2nd Division Reserve team named Club Tristan Suarez where we won 3-2.
The guys also got to visit two of the most Iconic Football Stadiums in the world La Bombonera and Estadio Monumental. These are the homes of the biggest clubs in Argentina Boca Juniors and Riverplate.
Lanus
Club Atletico Banfield
We faced Club Atletico Banfield from the Argentine First Division which later invited back three of our players for a trial with their Reserve team.
Club Tristan Suarez, in the 2nd Division
Chile Pro Tour 2022
Our Mendoza United u20s, u18s, and u17s played academy teams of O’Higgins F.C. and San Felipe, Chilean clubs in the First and second divisions. O’Higgins is a competitive team in the First Division. San Felipe is second in Chile’s U18 Academy national league. Mendoza played with five 14-16-year-old Americans against both teams. Our u20 and u19s both lost but were competitive against both teams. The Chilean pro tour was a valuable developmental experience for our players. We had three players get invited for a 30-day tryout.
