Super Start to 2016 for all MUFC Teams
Marbella United FC started the 2016 with the way they ended 2015 with a clean sweep of victories for the 3 teams, over this past weekend. With key showcase games coming thick and fast, every player had something to prove to earn a spot in the MUFC Showcase Roster.
Setting the tone for the weekend, were the unbeaten MUFC U18’s. Continuing their fine form on Saturday evening with a 7-0 win, highlight of the game being a hat trick from Tommy Buono (Winchester, Virginia). Moving onto Sunday both Senior teams were in action with MUFC Orange coming away 3-0 winners, Nicholas Niang (Virginia Beach, Virginia) bagging a brace to lead them to a comfortable 3 points. The final game of the weekend for MUFC was the Blue team who stomped past their league opposition 5-1, this time it was John Rogers (New York) with the hat trick. Three very convincing wins for the academy that had completed their first week back since the Christmas break.
After some hard work behind the scenes over the past few weeks, MUFC have been able to put together an extremely exciting schedule of showcase games for our players to compete against. These games highlight the direction of the academy is moving in, by offering the highest quality opposition for our players to develop. 20/01/2016 MUFC XI vs. U.D.
