New head coach Patrick Aussems joins MUFC staff

MUFC Head Coach, Patrick AussemsPatrick Aussems joins the MUFC staff as the head coach starting January 14, 2017, after 30 years of international experience in Europe, Asia, and Africa. Aussems has held several titles in professional football including technical director national and first team coaching stints. As a player, he competed at the division 1 levels in Belgium and France. He also was selected to represent the Belgium National Team. Aussems' UEFA Pro License combined with his years of experience at high levels of football across various countries and cultures will help develop MUFC's players and influence the rise of football culture in North America.Nepal National Team CoachCoach Patrick Aussems comes to MUFC after a successful year as head coach of Nepal's National team. Throughout the 2015/16 season, he led the team to win the 2016 South Asian Games in India, as well as the 2016 Banganbadhu Gold Cup in Bangladesh. By the end of his time in Nepal, Aussems was also able to raise the team’s World FIFA Ranking up 11 points from #192 to #181.Benin National Team CoachAussems success in National team development is also recognized throughout his time as head coach, and manager of the Benin national team. Aussems was able to take the African nation to qualify for the CAN 2008 in Ghana, and again in 2010 in Angola. He also helped the U19 & U16 national team qualify for African Cup CAF in 2009. Throughout his 3 years as head coach, Aussems was able to increase the Benin’s National team FIFA World Ranking over 55 places, going from #114 in 2006, to #59 in 2009.1^st & 2^nd Division Coach in Europe, Africa and ChinaPatrick has also coached and managed many professional clubs throughout African, Asian, and European first and second divisions. In the 2014/15 season, Aussems led Al Hilal Omdurman of Sudan to win the Sudan Super Cup as well as 1/2 finalist of the African Champions League in 2015. During the 2013/14 season, Aussems was head coach of AC Leopards Dolisie in Congo and won the Championship in 2014, as well as became 1/2 finalist of the African Cup.From 2011-2013, Patrick Aussems was the head coach of China 1^st division teams Shenzhen Ruby, and then head coach of Chengdu Blades in 2013.In France, Aussems won the National Championship as coach of second division, ETG FC in 2009/10. This only follows the beginning of the century where from 1997-2002, the Belgian International saw multiple success where he won the Championship and also won the Cup with two separate French teams as head coach of SS Capricorne, and also Saint-Louisienne.Distinguished Playing CareerAs a player, Patrick Aussems has accumulated 250 Professional matches in both Belgium and France throughout his 17 year career. In those years he also played internationally, representing Belgium for the first team, U23's, military, and the Olympics. Aussems has played over 20 UEFA Cup matches, and won the Belgian Super Cup, as well as the Championship of Belgium. His position as center back allowed him to read the game as it was in front of him. In the Belgian division 1, he played for Standard De Liege, AA Gent and La Gantoise. In the French ligue 1, He played for Estac Troyes, and FC Seraing in the ligue 2, and Saint Louisienne, and SS Capricorne in Réunion.
