MUFC Player signs for Spanish Division 3 team, San Pedro.

Not even 2 months into their 2015/16 season, MUFC have had their first player signed by Division 3 team San Pedro.

 MUFC Defender James Querée, 25 was training with the Division 3 outfit for around 4 weeks before they looked to make him part of the team for the rest of the season.The Former AFC Bournemouth Youth & Reserve team player that also won the Managers player of the year (07/08) was released after the club went into administration. However, with one door closed another opened as Querée went onto to enjoy a successful College Career at Division 1 Powerhouse Xavier University (Cincinnati, Ohio). A 2-year captain in which saw Xavier win back-to-back conference championships (2010/11) and 3 consecutive appearances in the NCAA Tournament (2010-12)In line with MUFC’s core values the Jersey, United Kingdom native chose to prioritize his academics equally with football by pursuing his Masters in Business. The next year was spent in Leeds, England where he was part of the RIASA program. James completed his dissertation this summer, when he was offered an internship role by MUFC Director Bobby Lennon to help with the daily operations of MUFC soccer academy while continuing to play within the academy.“Since I was 15 I have been extremely fortunate that football has opened doors academically for me and I have placed them both as equally important. I have always looked to carry on learning the game and felt at every opportunity I have improved a different aspect to my game. If I am honest at my age I did not expect any professional opportunities to come about, however MUFC has offered me a pathway to a higher level of playing that I could not of imagined just 3 months ago.”James will now move onto the coaching staff at MUFC where he looks to share his experience especially with the MUFC U18’s and has taken up the post of Director of Operations. Some of the duties expected from James amongst other interns are:

• Team organization; For Transportation, Kit & Equipment
• Mentoring & supporting younger players academically.
• Working with coaches to organize daily operations.
• Working on the business strategy in preparing for the progression of the academy.

There is a sense of excitement around the MUFC guys of what lies ahead in the next 12 months and I want to be part of this moving forward. However, Xavier, RIASA and now MUFC would not of been possible without the financial and unconditional support from my family throughout. Which I am hugely grateful for.”James has been part of the last 4 games of U.D San Pedro’s season, which included a 30-minute substitute appearance in the 0-0 draw vs. top of the table Malaga C.F II team.
