Meet our Coaching Staff
I am Bobby Lennon, the Founder and Director of Football for Mendoza United FC.
My extensive travels across North America have brought to light a critical need for enhanced player development in our youth soccer programs.
Fifteen-year-old players from North America are introduced to team tactics without having quality technical skills and never learned to think for themselves.
Our player development methodology involves the following:
Breaking the habit of ball-watching to improve vision.
Field awareness.
Reading the game.
Anticipation skills.
Sound decision-making.
Communication
Always being in the correct support positions at the right time.
We also judge and measure distance so players are always in the proper position and body posture for better field vision. These are simple principles that Americans have to buy into to compete at a higher level. These critical fundamentals are necessary for players from the United States and Canada to enjoy and succeed in the game with the rest of the world.
Our technical trainer, Rodolfo Rodriguez, has many technical exercises that have not been repeated for over six months. The daily repetition of these exercises designed for the three-thirds of the field develops our player's muscle memory to become instinctive in games.
Our job is to develop Americans and Canadians to compete with and against Europeans and South Americans. We do so by developing our players to think at least two steps "off the ball," use skill instinctively as the game dictates in extreme game-pressure situations and build physical strength to compete at a professional level or high-level college soccer environment.
