Another Weekly Update full of exciting news: New Players, Showcase Game and MUFC players sign with Spanish Club:

Just the second week back after the Christmas break and MUFC are back into full flow. This past Friday (22nd January) an MUFC Showcase XI played against Dynamo Kiev’s U18’s Champions League team. Ranked 3rd in Europe for their age group, whom are currently on a winter break along with their first team, MUFC gave themselves an uphill struggle by giving away 2 early penalties, however a spirited 2nd half ensured MUFC gave a solid account of themselves, which they can be proud of. This game was a great lesson in what our players will have to prepare for in the coming weeks when they face the likes of Betis and Sevilla, two top La Liga opponents. As mentioned in another post, Doug Stevenson (Kansas City) and Tommy Buono (Virginia) signed for U.D San Pedro’s 1st team this week. While Daniel Man (Hong Kong) Kyo Adachi (California) Zack La Case (Montana) & John Rogers (New York) have signed with San Pedro’s ‘B’/U23 team who play in Division 5.Senior Daniel Man commented on his new team:“I feel excited and optimistic about joining and integrating with San pedro. This is a good opportunity for myself and I'm looking forward to the prospect of playing my first game for them." While the federation still is finalizing Daniel’s, John’s & Zack’s paperwork, Kyo was able to make an instant impact, coming off the bench in the 2nd half and spurring on San Pedro’s U23’s to a 2-1 win.“I am thankful for this opportunity to be a part of San Pedro and will take pride in being able to represent MUFC. San Pedro is a great stepping-stone for those who are looking to improve their football game as well as a chance to mix in with local Spanish players. I wasn't sure what to expect in my first game but we were able to come out with a good win and although there was a slight language barrier I felt welcomed and at home with the team.” Finally we welcome our latest addition to the MUFC Roster, Michael Lens (Dallas, Texas) has joined the ranks this past week. The towering Centre Back is a welcome addition and was thrown straight into the MUFC Showcase XI vs. Dynamo Kiev. The former Dallas Texan had this to say about his MUFC experience so far:“My stay here has been welcoming, weather is amazing for practice at all times ,the soccer culture here is great and MUFC makes the experience here great , playing my first game against Kiev a high level team was a great experience also. And also had a chance to witness the greatest club Barcelona fc play life changing moment.”New addition Michael LensWith Michael strengthening our roster, we are looking to continue this by adding to our 2016/17 roster, we are currently in the mix of recruiting season with very high demand for next season’s places.
