MUFC connects on the International Stage
The next chapter of one former prospect for MUFC’s 2015/16 season took a change for the better when International duty and a professional club came beckoning.Shelby Printemp (25) was called up for the Haiti National team to face El Salvador on October 10th 2015. Earning a place in the starting XI in the international friendly, Printemp capped a fine debut display with a goal in Haiti’s 3-1 win.Shelby’s growth as a player has seen him earn a move to FSV Optik Rathenow in German’s 4th tier. The right midfielder who can also be utilized, as a striker was first noticed on U.S Soccer academy’s Pro German tour in 2013. Something MUFC Director Bobby Lennon looks to repeat with MUFC in the spring of 2016. The U.S Soccer academy, which partners MUFC in offering a platform for identifying and developing players that are ready for the next level.The former Vancouver whitecaps U23 player has had a fine start in the Regionalliga Nordost League with 2 goals and an assist in the opening games of the season.First identified through the U.S Soccer academy’s program, Shelby was quick to show the credentials that were required to succeed at the next level. While being selected with other deserving players such as Abel Geber he was able to grab the opportunity with both hands and ensure the watching coaches took notice of his performances.The Haiti International is just another example of players taking the next step through the successful Pro Tours that the U.S Soccer Academy offered and now MUFC aim to replicate each season for those selected.
