2023-2024 Season Overview
We kicked off the 2023-2024 season with significant momentum, bolstered by adding new coaching staff in January. We welcomed Diego Pozo, former Argentina National Team goalkeeper, who played in the 2010 World Cup alongside Lionel Messi under the leadership of coach Diego Maradona. Pozo stepped in as our head coach, bringing a solid coaching team, including Martín Abuarre, Franco Testa, and Esteban Dovetta.
Our team consistently competed against and triumphed over first-team academies and 3rd Division professional first teams throughout the season. In May, we embarked on a professional tour to Buenos Aires, where we faced top-tier competition, playing against 1st Division professional academies Lanús and Banfield and 2nd Division academy Tristán Suárez. Following the Tour, 10 of our players were invited to trials with prominent clubs such as Lanús, Banfield, Tigre, and Racing—among Argentina's top 1st Division teams.
Over the summer, Diego Pozo and Martín Abuarre received coaching offers from professional clubs in Argentina. Still, we continued with Franco Testa and Esteban Dovetta, who remain integral members of our coaching staff. The season resumed for the fall semester in August, and the following months witnessed some of our best player development. By November, our squad was playing high, resulting in nearly half of our 40-player roster being invited to professional academy and first-team trials.
We concluded the year with an impressive achievement—17 players signed contracts with professional first teams and academies, marking a successful season for the players and the program.
