Who we are:
Mendoza United F.C. is a full-time residential program in Argentina that combines flexible American education with professional football development.
Our coach, Deigo Pozo, an Argentina 2010 World Cup player and professional coach, heads our player development and pro placement with high-level competition, world-class technical development, and European tactical training. He has contacts throughout Europe and South America to help Americans with tryout opportunities. We also help our student-athletes with college soccer opportunities in the United States.
We recruit quality players ages 14 to 23, seeking to play professionally or collegiately, with great passion, attitude, mentality, discipline, focus, and drive to reach their highest potential.
We began in 2015 as Marbella United F.C. in Spain, but we moved to Belgrade, Serbia (Belgrade United F.C.), because of the unavailability of student visas for minors during COVID-19. While in Serbia, we advanced nine Americans to European professional clubs. Due to the Russia-Ukraine war, we moved to Mendoza in February 2022 because of player safety concerns.
Serbia and Montenegro are excellent for placing our players in their first professional clubs. We have professional contacts throughout Europe and South America.
What we are:
Our program priority is to close the gap between our American player's youth soccer experience and a European professional level.
We develop American players' game intelligence and technical skills to play modern European football.
Our players' next stage of development is to compete with and against European professional players in small clubs, mainly. After one or more seasons of professional development, we advance our players to bigger clubs in Western Europe's second division, where there is significant financial growth.
Our players will advance to first-division clubs in the region before signing their third professional contract in the second division in a powerful football country in Western Europe.
Education and Academic Choices:
Even though our students can take any academic career path outside of soccer, we support interested student-athletes by guiding them into European master's degree programs and UEFA coaching courses to start careers in coaching, football business, or sports marketing after their meaningful playing years end.
After each of our two daily practices, our student-athletes have two focused and disciplined study halls supporting their virtual high school, college, and master's degree programs.
